On November 28, 2025, Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Director of the Institute of Psychology, BNU, chaired a scientific session at the First International Child PsyCon, organized by King Edward Medical University’s Department of Psychiatry. The session showcased innovative research and emerging evidence on child and youth mental health, bringing together leading experts shaping the future of child psychiatry in Pakistan.

On November 29, 2025, Dr. Farhat Nadeem, Assistant Professor at BNU’s Institute of Psychology, participated in a panel discussion on Trauma, Resilience, and Mental Health in Pakistani Youth at the First International Child PsyCon. She outlined critical research gaps, including outdated national data, exclusion of vulnerable populations, insufficient culturally validated assessment tools, and limited neuroimaging resources.

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) celebrates the remarkable achievements of alumna Maryam Behram, who holds a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is currently serving as a Practitioner Psychologist at the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, delivering evidence-based care across multiple mental health services.

In observance of the International Day for Tolerance, BNU brought together five dynamic voices including: BCPR, BNU Blood Bank, Climate Action Society, Animal Club, and the Well-Being Society for a powerful panel discussion on diversity, empathy, and coexistence.

The Institute of Psychology, BNU, hosted a symposium on November 11, 2025, as part of the 1st International Child PsyCon 2025, showcasing innovative undergraduate research on adolescent wellbeing. Topics ranged from emotional intelligence and friendship quality to screen usage, maladaptive daydreaming, identity formation, and gender role attitudes.

‎On November 3, 2025, DG Punjab Probation and Parole Service (PP&PS), Mr. Muhammad Shahid Iqbal, delivered an insightful session on the psychological rehabilitation of offenders. The discussion covered the department’s core functions, community service based rehabilitation, the impact of structured intervention programs, and the evolving trends in restorative practices and the results from it, followed by an interactive Q&A.

On October 17, 2025, the Institute of Psychology was represented by Dr. Farhat Nadeem as a distinguished panelist at the Mental Health Awareness Symposium hosted by the Lahore School of Behavioural Sciences. ‎Prof. Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Director, Institute of Psychology, Beaconhouse National University, chaired a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Youth Mental Health in the Digital World: Navigating Challenges Towards Resources” hosted by the Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP), University of the Punjab, in collaboration with the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) Lahore Division and Child Psycon by KEMU.

‎On October 6, 2025, the Institute of Psychology in collaboration with the Wellbeing Society hosted an insightful Endometriosis Awareness Session in partnership with She Deserves Care Pakistan: a women’s health advocacy initiative under the Women of South Speak Out (WOSSO) Fellowship, a program of the Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW).

On September 30, the Institute of Psychology, in collaboration with the BNU Wellbeing Society, conducted an immersive mindfulness session designed to enhance students’ emotional resilience. From BNU to Purdue University Northwest, Fareeha Shahid’s path embodies resilience, adaptability, and a deep interest in human transitions. A BS in Applied Psychology and an MS in Clinical and Counselling Psychology alumna, she explored themes of change, from grief to post-COVID adjustment, while developing strong research, communication, and critical thinking skills.
