Dr. Farhat Nadeem Highlights Research Gaps in Youth Mental Health at PsyCon ’25

On November 29, 2025, Dr. Farhat Nadeem, Assistant Professor at BNU’s Institute of Psychology, participated in a panel discussion on Trauma, Resilience, and Mental Health in Pakistani Youth at the First International Child PsyCon. She outlined critical research gaps, including outdated national data, exclusion of vulnerable populations, insufficient culturally validated assessment tools, and limited neuroimaging resources.

Dr. Nadeem emphasized the growing prevalence of anxiety, depression, trauma exposure, and digital mental health risks among Pakistani youth. She advocated for nationally representative, culturally grounded research to inform effective policies, interventions, and programs that address these urgent challenges.

Her participation highlighted BNU’s active role in shaping evidence-based discourse on youth mental health and fostering actionable solutions for societal impact.
