On October 6, 2025, the Institute of Psychology in collaboration with the Wellbeing Society hosted an insightful Endometriosis Awareness Session in partnership with She Deserves Care Pakistan: a women’s health advocacy initiative under the Women of South Speak Out (WOSSO) Fellowship, a program of the Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW).
The session began with an introduction by Aimen Mubasher, Co-founder of She Deserves Care Pakistan, and Natasha Mehmood, Founder of the initiative, who shared her personal journey with endometriosis and addressed key concerns around diagnosis, symptoms, challenges faced, and myths.
This was followed by informative talks by Dr. Izzah Hassan Samra, who explained the biological aspects of endometriosis and its mental health implications, and Dr. Sobia Wazeer Ali, who discussed its social and cultural dimensions within Pakistan. It concluded with a QnA and an interactive Trivia which the audience enthusiastically participated in. The session was an empowering afternoon of dialogue and awareness on a condition too often overlooked.
