Software Engineer – Office of Innovation

Position: Software Engineer
Department: Office of Innovation

About the Role:

Beaconhouse National University invites applications for the position of Software Engineer in its Office of Innovation. The engineer will lead the development of dashboards and core modules for our Campus Management System (CMS), built on a Laravel backend with a React frontend, and will play a key role in delivering scalable, responsive, and highly interactive tools for the campus community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build responsive, highly interactive React dashboards consuming Laravel APIs.
  • Design and extend Laravel backend modules, including Eloquent models, migrations, queues, and role-based access control.
  • Own API contracts between the frontend and backend, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Implement real-time features (e.g., Laravel Echo/Reverb with WebSockets) for live dashboards and notifications.
  • Mentor the Associate Developer and support their technical growth.
  • Ensure performance, security, and code quality across the full stack.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of production experience with Laravel (Eloquent, queues, migrations, auth/RBAC) and React (hooks, state management, component architecture).
  • Strong REST/API design skills and experience integrating a decoupled frontend with a Laravel backend.
  • Experience building data-heavy, interactive dashboards using charting libraries (e.g., Recharts, Chart.js) with filtering and real-time updates.
  • Ability to own a module end-to-end with minimal supervision; solid git-based workflow.
  • Prior experience with ERP/CMS/LMS-style systems and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

About the Role:

Position: Research Associate (3 Positions)
Duration: 5 months, full-time (contractual)
Location: Lahore, with travel to Karachi, Peshawar & Islamabad

About the Role:

  • Join a small research team working on Pakistan's digital economy, financial inclusion, and tax compliance.
  • Work spans quantitative data analysis, SME field surveys, and policy/regulatory research.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze data on digital payments and taxation (SBP, FBR, and other sources).
  • Support an SME survey; questionnaire design, field coordination, and data quality checks.
  • Contribute to policy research, stakeholder interviews, and report writing.

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.
  • 2+ years of research experience (tax policy, financial inclusion, or survey research is a plus).

Deputy Registrar

The Deputy Registrar will support the Registrar in leading the University's academic administration and governance functions while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, HEC regulations, and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of admissions, student registration, academic records, graduation, and related academic processes.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a reputable university or higher education institution, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role related to academic administration, registrar functions, governance, or institutional compliance.
  • Sound knowledge of HEC policies, university statutes, academic regulations, governance procedures, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in modern office and information management systems.
