Beaconhouse National University’s School of Media & Communication (SMC) organized an engaging edition of SMC Talks titled “Storytelling in the Modern World.” The session featured Jasir Shahbaz, a Lahore-based writer, educationist and cultural critic, who explored the enduring power of narratives across linguistic and cultural contexts.
Students and faculty participated in thought-provoking discussions on how storytelling transcends mediums—from literature and film to digital platforms—reflecting the evolving dynamics of contemporary communication. The session highlighted storytelling as a vital tool for understanding society, shaping identities, and preserving cultural memory, leaving attendees inspired to think critically about narrative forms in today’s interconnected world.
