Dr. Shazia Humayun, Assistant Professor ELM and Head SE-EDx at Beaconhouse National University School of Education, conducted a series of impactful trainings for educators at Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority under the Promotion Linked Training (PLT) 2026 program, focusing on Early Childhood Care and Education and instructional leadership development.
The sessions were designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) alongside the principles of effective instructional leadership in public sector schools. Moving beyond conventional lecture-based approaches, the training incorporated experiential learning strategies to cultivate deeper conceptual clarity and professional reflection among participants.
As part of this immersive approach, Dr. Shazia arranged a visit to a nearby pilot school featuring a fully operational ECCE classroom. Participants observed the classroom environment, interactive learning corners, and child-centered teaching practices in real time. They also engaged with the ECCE teacher and classroom caregiver, gaining valuable insights into lesson planning, classroom management, and nurturing early learning environments. The field-based experience enabled participants to connect theory with practice, transforming the PLT program into a reflective, practice-oriented professional learning opportunity.
