The First-Ever BNU Media Fest 2025, hosted by the School of Media & Mass Communication (SMC), Beaconhouse National University, marked a historic milestone for the university — bringing together creative minds, filmmakers, storytellers, and media enthusiasts from 30+ institutions across Pakistan, along with international participants from Cairo, Indonesia, and beyond.
With energetic competitions, insightful workshops, vibrant campus activities, and unforgettable performances, the two-day festival set a new benchmark for student-led creative events at BNU.
The festival opened in the SLASS Auditorium with a packed house of students, faculty, and distinguished guests. Campus Ambassadors from various institutions were presented with recognition shields, while our chief guests and speakers shared inspiring words about media, storytelling, and youth-led creativity.

Immediately after the ceremony, major competitions kicked off including Short Film, Documentary, Public Service Message, Under 60 Seconds Reel, Photography, and Live Reporting. The auditorium also hosted screenings for Short Film and PSM categories, where participants showcased powerful stories, cinematic perspectives, and socially impactful narratives.
Throughout the day, students explored creative stalls, interactive corners, and the lively environment across campus. The Open Mic session at the Courtyard brought together students and faculty in a heartwarming display of poetry, singing, storytelling, and spoken word creating a truly inclusive creative space.

The evening transitioned into a high-energy Social Night, featuring performances by B Musical, Random Mirza from Rawalpindi, and the electrifying DJ BAAHO, who closed the night with an unforgettable set. The atmosphere was euphoric, a celebration that students will remember for a long time.
Day two began with continued competitions, interactive sessions, and filmmaking & photography workshops conducted by industry professionals. Students from different universities collaborated, created, and learned together, embodying the spirit of a multidisciplinary media festival.
The festival concluded with a prestigious Closing Ceremony, graced by Dr. Qaiser from Discover Pakistan as the Chief Guest. In an inspiring move, Dr. Qaiser announced a cash prize of PKR 50,000 for each winner of the BNU Media Fest, a moment that electrified the auditorium and added immense value to the achievements of our participants.
Winners from all categories were celebrated on stage for their creativity, hard work, and outstanding submissions, many of which had traveled across provinces and even across borders to be part of this event.
The First Edition of BNU Media Fest stands as a proud achievement for SMC BNU, a festival that brought together diverse voices, international representation, and the true essence of creativity. Students left with memories, friendships, and experiences that will stay with them for years.
This was not just a media festival, it was the beginning of a legacy that will only grow bigger and brighter.
