BNU Celebrates Its 20th Convocation, Honoring Excellence and Achievement

Beaconhouse National University proudly celebrated its 20th Convocation on Saturday, December 20, 2025, marking a historic milestone in its two-decade journey of academic excellence. The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, as Chief Guest, and Professor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission, as Guest of Honor.

The event brought together distinguished members of the Board of Governors, including Mr. Nassir Mahmud Kasuri, deans, faculty members, dignitaries, esteemed guests, and proud parents of the graduating students. Their presence underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and celebrating scholarly achievements in a truly collaborative environment.

Dr. Moeed W. Yusuf, Vice Chancellor of the University, presided over the ceremony in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Chancellor. In his convocation address, he highlighted BNU’s remarkable contributions at both national and international levels, underscoring the achievements of faculty, students, and alumni throughout the past year. He also shared the university’s annual report, reflecting a trajectory of growth, innovation, and academic impact.

The Vice Chancellor further elaborated on BNU's generous financial assistance program, which benefited over 800 newly admitted students this year, ensuring that merit and potential remain the foremost criteria for access to higher education. A total of 512 degrees were conferred during the ceremony, while 18 gold medals were awarded for academic excellence, 14 of which were secured by female graduates—a milestone specifically commended by the Minister.

In his address, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat lauded BNU’s transformative initiatives, including scholarships for Daanish School students under the CM Punjab’s Honhaar Scholarship Scheme and the training of 47,000 government school students through the BNU School of Education. He also praised the university’s leadership in uniting fifteen universities on a single platform for academic collaboration, reinforcing BNU’s role as a catalyst for national educational progress.

The convocation concluded with the inauguration of the Wall of Honor, celebrating BNU’s trailblazing achievements, and the announcement of the National Talent Fellowship Program, which will provide fully funded scholarships to deserving students maintaining exemplary academic performance. The event not only marked the celebration of two decades of excellence but also set a visionary path for the university’s future in shaping leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
