Azam Jamil Joins BNU as Program Advisor for Hospitality Management

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) welcomes renowned hospitality and tourism leader Azam Jamil as Program Advisor for the BS Hospitality Management program at the School of Management Sciences. The program features a curriculum developed with the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management and aligned with international standards set by the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH), UK.

With over four decades of leadership experience in hospitality, tourism, and organizational development, Azam Jamil brings a distinguished professional background to BNU. His career includes serving as Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Tourism Coordination, as well as Chairman of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). He has also held senior leadership roles with globally recognized hospitality groups including Serena Hotels and InterContinental Hotels, where he contributed to strategic growth, marketing, and talent development across South and Central Asia.

Mr. Jamil has played a pivotal role in advancing hospitality education in Pakistan, including serving as the first Dean of the Hashoo School of Hospitality Management, where he helped establish one of the country’s leading hospitality education institutions. His contributions to the tourism sector also include collaborations with the Aga Khan Development Network on heritage restoration projects such as Shigar and Khaplu Forts, now internationally recognized Serena Hotel destinations promoting sustainable tourism.

An alumnus of Cornell University’s Advanced Management Program in Hospitality Management, Mr. Jamil is also a certified CPD Life Coach and corporate trainer who has delivered leadership and professional development programs for organizations including Nestlé, Aga Khan University, and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital. Throughout his career, he has mentored emerging leaders and promoted excellence in hospitality and tourism management.

At BNU, Mr. Jamil will advise on curriculum development, industry engagement, and experiential learning opportunities to strengthen the BS Hospitality Management program, ensuring it remains aligned with global standards and industry practices.
