Beaconhouse National University Partners with NowPDP to Advance Inclusive Education
Beaconhouse National University (BNU) has formalized a strategic partnership with the Network of Organizations Working with Persons with Disabilities, Pakistan (NowPDP), reaffirming the University's commitment to creating an accessible, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all.
The collaboration marks a significant step in BNU's vision of embedding inclusion into every aspect of university life. Through this partnership, BNU and NowPDP will work together to foster greater awareness, accessibility, and opportunities for persons with disabilities across the campus community.
Key initiatives under the partnership include sensitization and awareness training for students, faculty, and staff; beginner-level sign language courses; digital storytelling and media campaigns highlighting the experiences and achievements of persons with disabilities; and the reservation of a 25% quota for students with disabilities in BNU's Summer and Winter School programs.
The partnership also seeks to promote economic empowerment by providing opportunities for artisans with disabilities to showcase and sell their products at university events. In addition, a comprehensive accessibility audit of BNU's physical and digital infrastructure will be undertaken to identify and implement improvements that ensure a more inclusive campus experience.
Students will also benefit from expanded opportunities for internships, volunteer programs, and student ambassador initiatives, enabling them to actively contribute to building a more inclusive society while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
This partnership reflects BNU's ongoing commitment to advancing inclusive excellence and ensuring that diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity remain integral to the University's mission.
