BNU RO Water Plant Opening

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is pleased to announce the opening of its RO Water Plant on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, marking an important step towards promoting sustainable water consumption and reducing single-use plastic on campus.

The plant will provide cold and room-temperature potable water. For faculty and staff, filtered water will also be available through existing water dispensers, eliminating the need to visit a separate filling point.

As part of this initiative, BNU is promoting a Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) culture across the University. By choosing reusable bottles over commercially bottled water, members of the BNU community can help reduce single-use plastic consumption and contribute to waste reduction and environmental sustainability.

Members of the BNU community can purchase a BNU reusable bottle from BNU Essentials or bring their own reusable bottle and refill it at the available water dispensers and filling points. Faculty and staff are encouraged to actively participate in the initiative and lead by example, helping strengthen the BYOB culture among students.

The initiative supports BNU’s broader goals of resource efficiency, waste diversion, and responsible water stewardship, while encouraging everyday practices that contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable campus.

Water Quality:
The quality of the water has been assessed by the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Pakistan. The relevant water quality reading is available as an attachment for reference.
