Dr. Tariq Rahman has recently delivered a number of special lectures, both nationally and internationally. On August 24 Aug 2014, he delivered a lecture at the 3rd Conference of the International Society for the Linguistics of English at University of Zurich, Switzerland on the topic ‘Modernization of Names in Pakistan.’ Later, he attended Distinguished Lectures at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on September 24, 2014 and spoke on the topic ‘The Economic and Political Consequences of Language Policies and Practices: the case of North India and Pakistan.’
Recently, School of Education BNU organized a talk by Dr. Tariq Rahman on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 under its Distinguished Lecture Series. In this lecture, he talked on ‘What was Jinnah's Pakistan? And what did we do to it?.’
Dr. Tariq Rahman is a well-known academician, columnist and scholar who is currently the Dean of SLASS and Acting Dean of School of Education at the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore. He is also HEC Distinguished National Professor and Professor Emeritus at the National Institute of Pakistan Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad for life. From June 2007 till June 2011, he was the Director of NIPS. He is a highly published scholar with over 99 articles in scholarly journals; 08 books; 21 entries in encyclopedias and reference books; 29 contributions to books and several book reviews.
