BNU to Implement APAC Cybersecurity Fund in Pakistan, Supported by Google.org

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) proudly announces the inauguration of the APAC Cybersecurity Fund in Pakistan, backed by Google.org, the philanthropic arm of Google Global. This initiative, in partnership with esteemed organizations such as the Asia Foundation, Global Cyber Alliance, and the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, aims to enhance the cyber capacities of small businesses and communities nationwide, fostering a safer digital environment

The APAC Cybersecurity Fund, backed by Google.org, is set to empower up to 300,000 small businesses and communities across Asia, with targeted assistance to 500 entities in Pakistan. The program will provide resources and support to enhance their cybersecurity infrastructure and practices.

In today's digitally-driven world, cybersecurity is paramount for organizations of all sizes. With the support of Google.org, BNU seeks to equip small businesses and communities with the necessary tools and knowledge to safeguard their digital assets against cyber threats.

BNU's forward-thinking approach and interdisciplinary nature distinguished it as the chosen partner for this prestigious project. The initiative involves the Consortium training BNU's students and faculty, who will subsequently train 400 industry partners on effective cybersecurity threat management. The School of Computer and Information Technology (SCIT) will serve as the program's hub, further solidifying its cybersecurity specialization within BNU's academic offerings.

Moreover, BNU will extend training opportunities to faculty members from universities across Pakistan, empowering them to become master trainers capable of reaching small and medium enterprises (SMEs) nationwide. Through this cascading model, the project's reach and impact will surpass initial estimations, contributing significantly to cybersecurity preparedness and resilience in the country.

BNU's overarching objective is to develop a program and outcomes that serve as a benchmark for Google and comparable countries, exemplifying excellence in cybersecurity education and practice. As the sole implementing partner for Google.org's APAC Cybersecurity Fund project in Pakistan, BNU is poised to spearhead transformative change in the nation's cybersecurity landscape, paving the way for a safer and more secure digital future.
