BNU's Rehan Tayyab Secures Film Production Project from Central Police Office Punjab

Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is delighted to announce a significant achievement by Rehan Tayyab, a talented student pursuing an MS in Film and TV from the TFT Department at the School of Media and Mass Communication. Rehan has emerged victorious in a film production competition organized by the Central Police Office Punjab, Lahore (Operations Branch), earning the opportunity to create a "Film/Movie on Police Department" for a coveted one-hour slot.

The project was officially awarded to Rehan Tayyab by Dr. Asad Ejaz Malhi (PSP), AIG/Operations for Provincial Police Officer, Punjab, Lahore, during a meeting held with the winners on October 27, 2023. This accomplishment not only underscores Rehan's filmmaking prowess but also reflects the recognition of his skills by esteemed authorities in the field.

Prior to this achievement, Rehan Tayyab showcased his academic and research excellence by presenting a paper based on his MS Film & TV research thesis, titled "Andhera-Ujala (1984-1985): A Study of Cop Culture and Crime in Pakistan TV Plays." The paper was presented at one of the world's largest conferences organized by the International Association for Media & Communication Research in Lyon, France, in July 2022.

The significance of Rehan's research reached international acclaim when Lexington Books UK, having seen the conference paper on the website of IAMCR 2023 - Lyon Conference, expressed interest in publishing a book on the subject.

BNU congratulates Rehan Tayyab on these remarkable achievements, highlighting the university's commitment to nurturing talent and excellence in various domains. We look forward to witnessing the impactful contributions Rehan will make through his upcoming film project for the Central Police Office Punjab.
