SCIT Students Visit Systems Ltd

In a remarkable stride towards bridging the gap between academia and industry, the third and fourth year computer science students of Beaconhouse National University (BNU) recently embarked on an enlightening journey to Systems Limited, a pioneering IT software solution company that proved to be an invaluable opportunity for students to witness firsthand the cutting-edge innovations and strategies employed by a company that stands as a beacon in the IT world.

The first presenter, Mr. Ghulam Mujtaba, an iOS Developer and Senior Managing Consultant Mobile, set the tone for the day by delving into the intricacies of application development. His comprehensive overview covered diverse platforms such as Flutter and React Native, along with a detailed exploration of native development for Android and iOS. The presentation not only shed light on the technical aspects but also presented a refined discussion on the pros and cons of each approach. Mr. Mujtaba's insights provided a holistic understanding of the dynamic field of application development, empowering students to navigate the ever- evolving landscape.

Following this enlightening session, Mr. Shahid Aziz, Vice President and Head of Microsoft Azure/O365, took the stage to unravel the mysteries of cloud computing. His presentation revolved around Microsoft Azure, explaining the workings of Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), Platform as a Service (PAAS), and Software as a Service (SAAS). The discourse extended to the practicalities of cloud computing and certifications offered by Microsoft. Mr. Aziz's expertise in the realm of Azure offered a glimpse into the future of cloud technology, inspiring students to embrace the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

The final presenter, Mr. Usman Ur Rehman Ahmed, Vice President of Cloud App Development & Maintenance, took a philosophical approach to his session. Beyond the technicalities of AI, blockchain, and cloud computing, Mr. Ahmed shared valuable insights into building a fulfilling career in IT. He emphasised the importance of aligning passion with practicality, encouraging students to introspect on their strengths and aspirations. This unique perspective on the human side of IT left an indelible mark, urging students to not only pursue excellence in their technical skills but also to find meaning and purpose in their professional journey.

Throughout the session, students engaged in a transforming learning experience as active participants rather than only being passive users of information. The sessions presented a comprehensive picture of the complex IT ecosystem, perfectly complementing one another. For aspiring computer science students, the tour catalysed introspection, inspiration, and a revitalised sense of purpose. Upon reflection of the insightful lessons that were acquired, students now share a common desire to make a significant contribution to society using the information and inspiration they received from this insightful meeting with business executives whilst undoubtedly having a lasting effect on these aspiring inventors' lives and careers.
