SE Hosts Master Class with Prof. Douglas Bourn on Leadership for Global Development

The Beaconhouse National University's (BNU) School of Education recently hosted an engaging master class with Professor Douglas Bourn, the Director of the Development Education Research Centre at University College London, UK. This event was organized exclusively for students enrolled in the course 'Global Citizenship, Leadership & Sustainability in the Anthropocene.'

The master class, co-taught by Ms. Aruj Khaliq, a member of the visiting faculty at SE, marked the inaugural session of the Human Library for Global Citizenship series. This innovative initiative aims to bring global leaders and field experts to BNU, offering students the opportunity to delve into various aspects of the Global Citizenship field with real-life experiences and anecdotes.

During the session, Dr. Douglas Bourn unpacked the intricate subject of 'Leadership for Global Development' and the associated debates within this domain. BNU students actively engaged with the distinguished guest, discussing key issues in the field and contributing their perspectives to a range of thought-provoking prompts.

The session concluded with students submitting critical reflections on their interactions with Professor Bourn, enhancing their understanding of leadership in the context of global development.

The BNU School of Education extends its gratitude to Professor Bourn for collaborating with the university and enriching the learning experience of its students. This master class is a testament to BNU's commitment to providing its students with exposure to global thought leaders and practitioners in the field of education and global citizenship.
