Rohma Khan's Artwork "Parchhaiyan" Featured in Interdisciplinary Exhibition
Rohma Moid Khan, Head of the Interdisciplinary Experimental Design and Arts (IEDA) department at SVAD (School of Visual Art and Design), has made yet another mark on the international art scene with her artwork "Parchhaiyan."
The captivating piece is currently on display at Torriano Meeting House as part of an interdisciplinary exhibition that delves into the intricate relationship between Text and Textile. The exhibition, is set to run until September 3rd, 2023.
"Parchhaiyan," created in 2020, features an heirloom chador adorned with Amrita Pritam's poignant poem "Ajj Akhhan Waris Shah Nu," etched in both Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi scripts. The poem beseeches the renowned Punjabi poet Waris Shah to rescue a bleeding Punjab during the tumultuous partition of 1947.
