School of Computer & IT (SCIT), BNU, organized a guest lecture by Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, CEO of Knowledge Streams, on May 03, 2023. This lecture was exclusively for the graduating batch of BSCS.

During the session, Dr. Sohail Naqvi talked about his latest venture Knowledge Stream, a tech platform that is focused on giving young people streamlined opportunities to find gainful employment in important economic sectors by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to enter the workforce and succeed there. He also shed light on his past experiences in academia and information technology in both private and government sectors.

"Absolutely anything and everything can be done. An electric vehicle is just software with a battery. We should never undersell our potential and have the confidence to create an economic impact", said Dr. Naqvi.

He talked about his 12-weeks boot-camp that will enable students to become Global IT professionals focusing on both Technical and Soft skills. This project based initiative will help minimize the gap that exists between theory and practice.

He also encouraged students to become global players by undertaking remote jobs in the field of Computer Science and IT.

The talk concluded with an interactive Q & A session.

About Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi:

Prof. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi started his new venture, Knowledge Streams in September 2022, a platform that provides youth with relevant skills and knowledge to enter the workforce.

Previously, he was the Founding Rector of the University of Central Asia and Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Prior to LUMS, he was the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission(HEC) for eight years.

He was awarded the Order of the ‘Palmes Académiques’ by the French Government, and the 'Sitara-e-Imtiaz' by the Government of Pakistan for his services to higher education.
