Founding Member, Board of Governors, BNU and former Principal of Aitchison College, Lahore, Mr. Shamim S. Khan passed away yesterday, June 12, 2022. He was 86 years old.

Mr. Shamim Saifullah Khan was born to Sadullah Khan in Mohammad Nari area of Charsadda. He got his education from England. He remained principal of Aitchison College, Lahore, from 1994 to 2008 and pioneering member of the Board of Governors, Beaconhouse National University for over a decade.

He was the grandson of Dr. Khan Sahib, former chief minister of then North West Frontier Province, now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dr. Khan Sahib was the brother of Khudai Khidmatgar Tehreek founding leader Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan aka Bacha Khan.

Mr. Shamim Saifullah Khan’s visionary leadership and priceless contribution to the education sectors in Pakistan especially his invaluable inputs as member of the Board of Governors of Beaconhouse National University will never be forgotten. His erudite presence in the academic circles will not only be remembered but also sorely missed.

He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard yesterday in Sadullah Khan Kallay, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

BNU mourns the loss of a great visionary and extends heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to late Shamim Saifullah Khan’s family, friends and his uncountable students in this hour of great grief.
