SCIT students develop an Android based 3D Game
Final year students of School of Computer and IT (SCIT) have developed an Android based 3D zombie apocalypse game, Battlefield, that was tested at the BNU Tarogil campus on Wednesday 15th February, 2017.
A gaming area was setup and students, staff, and faculty were invited to help with the testing. Several competitive rounds of the game were held, and valuable feedback was collected, with the help of a support team of third year SCIT students.
The game was also shown to the Vice Chancellor BNU, Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar, Dean SCIT, Dr. Khaver Zia and Director Student Affairs and External Relations BNU, Mr. Zaeem Yaqoob Khan. They highly appreciated the hard work of the students who have developed the game.
The three students in the development team, Abdul Basit, Danish Ali and Zunaira Arif explained that they decided to develop a fixed position, first person shooting game in order to reach a maximum number of players, and felt that it was engaging enough to even attract users who aren’t habitual gamers. The game is designed to become more challenging at each level up to keep the players interested. Currently, the game works on Android phones only but the students plan to develop iOS and Windows versions soon.
