Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Director at the Institute of Psychology (IP), Beaconhouse National University presented a paper titled “Experience of Caregivers of Dementia Patients” at a Seminar on Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementias. The seminar was held at the Hospitality Inn, on September 29, 2016 and was organized by Alzheimer’s Pakistan.

Dr. Ruhi Khalid’s paper highlighted the hardships of caregivers and its subsequent impact on their mental health. It was well-received by the audience and generated a great deal of discussion among the professionals and students present on the occasion.

The faculty and students of MS and B.Sc. (Hons.) from Institute of Psychology also attended the seminar. They raised pertinent questions in the Q&A session following the presentation of different papers by eminent professionals in the field including Dr. M. Nasrullah (Wapda Hospital, Lahore), Dr. Ali M. Hashmi (King Edward Medical University), Dr. Ruhi Khalid (Beaconhouse National University), Dr. Sadaf Rashid (Fatima Jinnah Medical University), Brig. (retd.) Dr. Mowadat Rana (College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan) and Dr. Hussain Jafri (Alzheimer’s Pakistan).
