Beaconhouse National University (BNU), School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD) and Lahore Biennale Foundation (LBF) have partnered to create STORIES WE TELL (AAO SUNNAIN KAHANI), an audio and visual storytelling project that aims to create a crossover between communities and people, by creating an avenue for an exchange of ideas and stories. The launch ceremony was held on 26th March, 2016 at The Last Word in Lahore. Rashid Rana, Qudsia Rahim, Bilal Sami & Umar Hameed were present on the occasion.

For the next seven months (March through September) AAO SUNNAIN KAHANI booths will be placed around the city, for a week each month, for the purpose of recording and spreading stories and conversations. A defining theme (which will change each month) that encapsulates a particular aspect of Lahore’s quintessential everyday life will dictate not only the locations at which our storytelling booths will be placed, but also the narrative theme of the stories being played and recorded.

The project hopes that by bringing conversational storytelling and sharing back to common public spaces, the act of storytelling and experience sharing can be democratized again.
