Banking & Finance

  • Where can I find the details of this program?

  • Is B.Sc (Hons.) in Banking & Finance HEC recognized program?

    Yes, the curriculum of this program follows HEC guidelines.

  • How much is the duration of the program?

    B.Sc (Hons.) in Banking & Finance is a four year degree program. Each year is divided into two semesters.

  • Is the Summer Semester a regular semester?

    No. Courses may, however, be offered in Summer Semester on request of the students to make up for courses with F or W grade. Minimum number of enrollment must be 10. Summer Semester fee is charged separately.

  • Who can apply for B.Sc (Hons.) in Banking & Finance?

    Anyone with average C grade in A levels or minimum 45% in intermediate can apply for B.Sc (Hons.) in Banking & Finance.

  • Can I transfer my credit hours from any other universities?

    Yes, your relevant courses with C or higher grade can be transferred on your request subject approval of the Committee on Quality Assurance.

  • Is this a full time or a part time program?

    B.Sc (Hons.) in Banking & Finance is a full time program. Part time program is currently not available.

  • Where can I serve on successful completion of the degree?

    You may be employed by Regulatory Bodies (e.g. Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan), Banking Sector (Commercial Banks, Islamic Banks, Investment Banks and other specialized banks), Stock Exchange, Stock Brokers, Insurance and Takaful Companies, Musharika and Mudarba Companies, Mutual Funds, Foreign Exchange Companies, Leasing Companies, Other Development Financial Institutions, NGOs, Academic Institutions, Research Organizations and other International Financial Institutions.


BSc (Hons) in Social Sciences with major in Economics

  • What is offered in the Economics program?

    BSc (Hons.) in Social Sciences with major in Economics provides thorough training in Social Sciences with focus on Economics. The detailed structure of the program, list of courses etc. are available here.

  • Who can apply for this program?

    Students with A-levels background with minimum ‘C’ grade in three subjects can apply. Students with Intermediate (FA/F.Sc./ICS/ICom.) background with minimum 45 percent score can apply.

  • What is the scope of the program?

    The program has a wide scope and equips students to be hired by public and private institutions alike including State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Finance, Pakistan Planning Commission, various development institutes, international donor agencies, public policy institutes, sector think tanks, research institutes, financial institutions, economic and financial journals etc. In addition, the students with majors in Economics can easily pursue higher degrees in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business Administration, Economic Sociology, Quantitative Economics, and Islamic Finance in universities around the world.

  • What is the study mode of the program?

    BSc (Hons.) in Social Science with Major in Economics is a full-time program and students are expected to complete the program in 4 years (8 semesters).

  • Are any classes held at City Campus?

    No, all the classes are held at Tarogil Campus.

  • Is the option of weekend classes also available?

    No, there is no option of pursuing this degree through weekend classes.

  • Are evening classes also offered for this program?

    No, there is no option of evening classes.

  • Can I complete the program on a part-time basis?

    No, there is no option for completing the program on a part-time basis. However, a student can opt to freeze a semester if s/he is too busy to attend classes in a semester.

  • Will there be any accommodation arrangement for offered applicants?

    Accommodation is available in the University hostel on a first-come first-serve basis. Successful candidates offered admission to the program can apply for hostel accommodation for which a decision will be made later. Your admission offer does not entitle you to avail hostel facility.
