Travly, a mobile app developed by the students of School of Computer and IT (SCIT), has won National Mobile App Competition 2015 (NMAC '15). The main purpose of this competition was to get new ideas on how information technology can be used to improve the government/ public sector as well as citizen-centric services. It was an open competition providing opportunity to developers to showcase their mobile apps for use in Governance, Education, Health, Traffic Management, Agriculture & Food Security, Judiciary, Policing & Security, Energy, etc. Travly won the competition along with huge prizes in cash and kind.
The win at NMAC '15 is not the first of achievements for Travly. Previously, the startup has also won the finals of Mobilink Discover and ChallengeX (a start-up competition) in the “smart-cities” category. As a result of this win, Travly was fast tracked by 1776 straight into the Challenge Cup Global Finals which will be held in Washington D.C. in May 2015. This will be a week-long event where the Travly team will have a chance to win up to 500,000 USD and also acquire investments for their startup.
Apart from this competition in Washington, Travly has also been invited by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America from 27th May to 3rd of June 2015 in Pittsburgh.

Supported by Plan9 – Pakistan’s Largest Tech Incubator and PlanX – Tech Accelerator by PITB, Travly is an efficient mobile app solution for daily bus commuters. Travly has been a high-impact start-up right from the beginning when it got incubated at Plan9 in 2013 - coming 4th out of 100 applicants in the 3rd incubation cycle. It later graduated from Plan9 and was selected for PlanX.
