Nominated for Presidential Civil Award for Visual Arts

Alumnus Aleem Dad Khan has been nominated for the Presidential Civil Award for Visual Arts, marking another historic milestone in SVAD and the UNESCO Chair's growing legacy of producing artists of national distinction.

"BNU provided me with the critical freedom, environment, and mentorship that truly transformed my perspective as an artist and laid the foundation for my creative journey."

Having completed his MA in Art & Design Studies with honors in 2015, Aleem has since exhibited his work across Pakistan, China, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. As an educator, he has gone on to mentor students at some of the country's leading art institutions, extending SVAD's academic influence well beyond its own classrooms.

"Aleem's achievement is proof of the diversity the MA Art & Design Studies program at SVAD was built to champion. From Gilgit-Baltistan to national recognition, his journey is a story that SVAD is proud to claim."

— Dean Professor Rashid Rana (S.I.), Chairholder of 'UNESCO Chair on Inclusion through Art'

Aleem Dad Khan's recognition marks another milestone in SVAD and the UNESCO Chair's growing legacy of producing artists of national distinction, and the school looks forward to celebrating many more such moments with its graduates in the years ahead.
