Aruj Khaliq, an alumna of the Beaconhouse National University (BNU) School of Education, Batch of 2022, has received a prestigious letter of commendation and a special invitation to contribute to a book chapter on "Education for Sustainability." The invitation comes from none other than the esteemed Professor Douglas Bourn, who not only holds a full-time professorship at UCL Institute of Education (IOE) but also serves as the Chair of the ANGEL Network, UK.
Aruj's exceptional academic journey and dedication to advancing sustainability education have garnered recognition on an international scale. This summer, she had the honor of presenting a portion of her M.Phil research, conducted under the guidance and support of Dr. Qudsia Kalsoom and Dr. Naima at BNU's School of Education, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.
At the UNESCO Headquarters, Aruj led an engaging session where she presented a toolkit titled 'Becoming Sustainability Pedagogues.' This toolkit is designed to facilitate International Baccalaureate teacher development, with a specific focus on Whole School Approaches to Sustainability. Aruj's presentation showcased her expertise and commitment to promoting sustainability education.
