Imperial theory denied excellence to Indian art and architecture. Therefore, by integrating traditional
trade mediums into her practice, like textiles and modern-day means of communication such as
technology -Augmented reality in particular-, Sana attempts to reset the hierarchical imbalance
between the East and West. She believes stereotypes stem due to misinterpretation in translations
and she highlights that by digitally constructing real-life juggar objects which speak to her of resilience
and generational trauma that her country carries as an aftermath of occupation. The intangible nature
of AR and the very palpable nature of textiles help us demand our space as South Asians as an
integral part of society both physically and subconsciously.
