Institute of Psychology actively participated at the WPA Thematic Congress 2022 on “Public Mental Health and Associated Opportunities” organized by World Psychiatric Association.
The faculty and students at Institute of Psychology actively participated at the WPA thematic congress 2022 on “Public Mental Health and Associated Opportunities” organized by World Psychiatric Association. The congress was organized in collaboration with Pakistan Psychiatric Research Centre, Fountain House, Ijaz Psychiatric Clinic & Fatima Memorial Hospital, held on 11-13th March 2022.
Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Director, Institute of Psychology, chaired a symposium on ‘Old Age Psychiatry.’ Other faculty members including Dr. Farhat Nadeem, Associate Professor & Dr. Amna Butt, Assistant Professor, also co-chaired scientific sessions at the congress. Moreover, Ms. Aman Karim, Assistant Professor, moderated a keynote lecture on “Mental Health in Global World.”
Along with this faculty and students also presented scientific papers. Dr. Amna Butt, Assistant Professor, presented a paper titled “Social information processing in children with conduct problems.” Students including Ms. Naima Fayzan and Ms. Aiza Ahmed under the supervision of Dr. Ruhi Khalid & Dr. Farhat Nadeem presented their group research papers titled "Loci of control, personality, and attitudes towards covid19 vaccination among adults" & "Readjusting to on-campus learning: Time Management, Distractibility, and Academic Motivation of University students," respectively.
Overall the congress was very well received and widely attended by our student body as well.
