Dr. Farooq Sulehria co-publishes journal article:
The Journal of Demographic Economics (Cambridge University Press) has published a paper co-authored by BNU’s Dr Farooq Sulehria, Luca Tasciotti (Greenwich Uni) and Natacha Wagner (Rudboud Uni).
The article titled, ‘Fertility, electricity and television: is there a link? Evidence from Pakistan, 1990-2018’, looks at three pathways for reducing fertility (i) electrification , (ii) access to TV, (iii) family planning commercials on television. Result shows that television has a significant effect on reducing fertility rates.
Dr Sulehria is Assistant Professor in the Department of Liberal Arts (DLA).
