Official Statement:
"I am thrilled and honoured to have received this prestigious acknowledgment for my film “Sunsets, Everyday”. A film which during its making proved to be the most daring film that I ever made to date. The Ammodo Tiger Short Award from the International Film Festival Rotterdam will help me gain confidence, take risks and have the courage to develop even more complex works in the future. The film was an exciting challenge to take during the difficult time of the pandemic, which soon became both the context and the condition of the film.
I would like to thank the Festival and the jury members for appreciating the film and recognizing the urgency of its subject. I want to express my gratitude to Beatrice Bulgari and her Foundation In Between Art Film for initiating the project “Mascarilla 19 – Codes of Domestic Violence” that eventually resonated with so many of us. Finally, a special thanks to the curator Leonardo Bigazzi for inviting me for this commission and for making this film possible in every capacity; a film that I believe has stirred my practice into a new direction."
