National Press Club in Washington DC will launch a new book on Pakistani media co-edited by Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Farooq Sulehria on September 30, 2020 at 7:00 pm.

The contents of From Terrorism to Television, Dynamics of Media, State and Society in Pakistan include chapters by "prominent and emerging journalists, as well as academic scholars from Pakistan, Australia, Britain, and the United States," according to a press release about the book.

Dr. Abbas is a media scholar who has served several universities in the U.S. as a communications faculty member and assistant dean. Co-editor Farooq Sulehria is an assistant professor at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.

The book dissects various contemporary issues such as freedom of expression, jihadi media contents and terrorism, TV talk shows and press coverage of Kashmir, harassment of women journalists, coverage of Osama bin Laden's killing, an Oscar-winning documentary on women's suffrage, and the peripheral provinces in the mainstream media.
