SVAD Hosts a Talk by Adania Shibli

Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) organized a talk by Adania Shibli on February 13, 2020.

Adania Shibli spoke about locating the self within otherness, by perceiving the self as a reflection of everything. Her talk highlighted the inherent links between nature and culture, and the human and the natural.

Adania Shibli (1974, Palestine) is a scholar and multilingual writer of award-winning novels, plays, short stories and narrative essays. Shibli’s academic research engages visual culture and since 2013 she has taught in the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies, Birzeit University, Palestine. Amongst her non-fiction books are the art book Dispositions (Ramallah: Qattan, 2012), and an edited collection of essays entitled A Journey of Ideas Across: In Dialog with Edward Said, (Berlin: HKW, 2014).

This talk was in collaboration with the Lahore Biennale Foundation Academic Forum.
