2019 USA Summer Exploratory Program

The second BNU Summer Exploratory Program concluded on August 09, 2019 at Millersville University (MU), Pennsylvania, USA. This year, a group of nine BNU students travelled to the United States of America for the program. The program is a combination of academic exploration and cultural immersion activities designed by the Directorate of Student Affairs and External Relations, BNU in partnership with the Cultural and Language Institute of, MU and hosted annually at MU Campus, Pennsylvania, USA. The group was accompanied by the Executive Director, Student Affairs & External Relations, Zaeem Yaqoob Khan. 


 

During the program, the participants acquired understanding about the U.S. higher education system through visits of PennState and George Washington University and detailed tours of schools and departments of Millersville University. The participants attended classes on Academic Writing, How to write a Personal Statement and University Application Process. For the cultural immersion activities they attended a Ropes Course, Longs Park Concert, Barnstormers Baseball Game, American Picnic and visits to Hershey’s Park and the famous Amish Village in Pennsylvania. 

The group was given a farewell dinner by Millersville University President, Dr. Daniel Wubah and Provost and Vice President, Dr. Vilas A. Prabhu. 


The participants also visited Washington D.C. and New York City on the sidelines of the program.
