Students of MS Film and TV got distinction by making their way to Cannes Film Festival 2018. Their Short Film Jahan Ara has been selected for the Festival. Being enslaved into forced marriages leaves the victims of such shotgun wedlock's with no choice but to accept. This is unfortunate reality for many residing in developing countries. Instead of voicing this sadistic truth the film aims at making the audience feel it.

The Director of the Film is Alizeb Raees who is currently in his final semester. He had earlier represented Pakistan in many Film Festival in USA, UK, Italy, Dubai and Japan. The Writer and lead actor of the Film is Nasir Ali Mazari who has been working at TFT Department since 2012. The lead actress of the Film is Maryum Yousaf who is also working at TFT Department. Both Nasir Ali Mazari and Maryum Yousaf are Gold Medalists in MA Film & TV from Beaconhouse National University. Other production members of the film including Azeem Amin, Talal Khalid, Usman Ashraf, Momna Tariq and Rub Nawaz are also doing MS Film & TV from BNU.

The Dean of School of Media and Mass Communication Prof. Dr. Taimur-ul-Hassan and The Head of TFT Department Qazi Akhyar Ahmad congratulated the students on their big achievement.
