Faculty members of Institute of Psychology, Beaconhouse National University participated at the Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges, held at Government College University, Lahore from the 26th of April till the 28th of April 2017.
1. Dr. Farhat Jamil, Assistant Professor at Institute of Psychology, chaired a scientific session titled “Physical Illness, Mental Health & The Health Care System” at a Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges. Research papers were presented by various psychologists that highlighted the importance of an adequately functioning healthcare system, as well as the subtle dynamics of mental health and its relationship to physical illness. The session tuned out to be very rewarding and the audience showed great interest in the overall work presented.
2. A paper on “Marital Adjustment and Life Satisfaction of Primary Infertile Women With or Without Adopted Children” authored by Tehmeena Nazir and Dr. Ruhi Khalid was presented at Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges held at Government College University, Lahore. The paper was well-received and garnered much applause from the attendants and the chairing committee alike because of the enormity of the issue and the lack of societal support that accompanies it.
3. A paper on “Attitude towards Menstruation, Health Locus of Control and Menstrual Coping Strategies of Youth Muslim Women” authored by Samar Asif and Dr. Ruhi Khalid was presented at Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges held at Government College University, Lahore. The paper was greatly appreciated for the depth of its content and insightful conclusions drawn.
4. A paper on “Social Anxiety and Interpersonal Sensitivity in Victims of Cyberbullying” authored by Lamae Zulfiqar and Dr. Ruhi Khalid was presented at Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges. The paper was hugely appreciated because of its current relevance in today’s times.
5. A paper on “Workplace Stress, and Coping Strategies of Security Guards Working in Private Universities” authored by Abeer Saleem, Dr. Farhat Jamil and Dr. Ruhi Khalid was presented at Three-day International Conference on Health Psychology: Issues and Challenges held at Government College University, Lahore. The paper garnered much applause from the participants because of the refreshing outlook it took on the topic.
