Dr. Tariq Rahman became Visiting Scholar at Wolfson College, University of Oxford
Dr. Tariq Rahman, Dean of School of Education and Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS), Beaconhouse National University was the visiting fellow at Wolfson College, University of Oxford from for the summer of 2016.
Apart from his research commitments at Oxford, he presented a paper at the Conference on Caste in South Asia and the Diaspora. Organized on July 4 2016, by Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology and Wolfson College, University of Oxford, the conference explored the contemporary manifestations of caste in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, and their diasporas in the UK. Dr. Rahman presented his paper, Names as Indicators of Caste and Class in Rural Pakistani Punjab, in the conference.
Dr. Tariq Rahman also delivered a lecture at Oxford Brookes University on June 24, 2016 on the topic The Soft Power of Punjabi.
