BNU TV & Film Society (BTFS) in collaboration with Faiz Foundation Trust and with the support of Department of Student Affairs & External Relations (DSAER) organized a seminar on Inter-Faith Harmony & Cooperation on May 11, 2016. The speakers included Adeel Hashmi (popular television personality, social worker and Board member Faiz Foundation Trust), Cecil Shane Chaudhry (Executive Director of the National Commission for Justice and Peace and son of the veteran war pilot and PAF's Group Captain (retd) Cecil Chaudhry), and Shoaib Mir (noted writer and academician).

The seminar was aimed at promoting pluralistic thoughts among students by highlighting contributions of outstanding Pakistani minority community members. The speakers talked about two books in particular, Leading Lights by Bushra Sultana and Beyond the “Other” by Haroon Khalid and recommended them for everyone interested in knowing about harmony and inter-faith cooperation throughout the sub-continent. On this occasion, some interesting videos were shown depicting minorities’ festivals and their outstanding contributions.

Faiz Foundation Trust is one of six partners implementing the project, Freedom of Religion & Belief in Pakistan, with the financial support of the European Union. The project aims to contribute towards the elimination of persecution of minorities in Pakistan, and create a conducive environment for diversified communities to exercise their rights without discrimination.
