Talk by Hassan Nisar at SMC

The Counselling Society of School of Media and Mass Communication (SMC) organized a Media Talk by famous journalist, columnist and political analyst Mr. Hassan Nisar on the topic “Panama Leaks and Media Ethics.” The talk was held on April 21, 2016. In his talk, Hassan Nisar discussed the issues pertaining media ethics in Pakistan in the context of latest Panama Leaks. He was of opinion that prejudice is the root cause of all our problems and should be uncultivated in society. He further discussed writing techniques with students and gave tips on how to write an effective column/article. Further elaborating his views on Panama Leaks, he supported opposition’s stance to call for an inquiry, trial and penalization of those found guilty. He also talked about the mismanagement and unjust distribution of resources in the society which paves the way for corruption and crimes.

The talk was followed by a question and answer session where students asked questions related to the consequences of Panama Leaks, women rights bill, China Pakistan Economic Corridor and media ethics.

Dr. Tamiur-ul-Hassan, Dean School of Media and Mass Communication; Prof. Dr. Mujahid Mansoori; HoD Journalism Rana Faizan Ali and other faculty and staff members from SMC were also present on the occasion.
