UMISAA Scholar reaches out to Earthquake victims in Nepal
Samuykta Bhandari, a Nepali student and UMISAA Scholar studying at Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), volunteered in a workshop to help earthquake victims in Nepal. The workshop, “Artwork! Sangai Khelau,” was held in the epicenter of earthquake i.e. Gurkha- Ghanchowk village. She, along with a team of twenty-nine artists, psychologists and educators, visited the earthquake affected area to conduct the workshop. Organized by Shikshya Foundation, Shrijanalaya, and Yellow House; the workshop was aimed to heal through art where children can express themselves through any art form.
Apart from this, Samuykta Bhandari also distributed the funds to help Nepal earthquake victims. The funds were generated at Beaconhouse National University to support the rehabilitation of earthquake victims. The fundraising campaign was spearheaded by BNU Volunteer Society & Team Azaad Pakistan in which students and staff showed generous support towards their Nepali brothers and sisters. Samuykta Bhandari, along with fellow UMISAA students at SVAD, actively participated in the fundraising process.
