Amar Ahsan Khan, a thesis year student at Department of Theatre, Film and Television (TFT) at the School of Media and Communication, BNU, has won the Best Film Award in ‘Peace category’ at 60 Seconds International Film Festival (60SIFF). Hosted at National College of Arts (NCA) in collaboration with the American Film showcase on 28th May 2015, 60SIFF encourages the youth to step up and ‘film’ their thoughts in order to create awareness about global issues.
Amar Ahsan Khan’s winning film “Black Wednesday” was based on Peshawar attack. The brilliantly crafted film was shortlisted from hundreds of other films from across the world and grabbed the award in ‘Peace’ category. This is not the first time that Amar Khan’s work has been applauded. Earlier, her film “Azaad Masi” has received accolades at different domestic and international film festivals.
