Dr. Ummad Mazhar, Head of Department of Economics at Seeta Majeed School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (SLASS), has participated in a number of conferences recently. These include conferences at University of Karachi, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and Transparency International.

Dr. Ummad Mazhar was a national speaker at "International Conference on Management Education and Social Science Research" which was organized by HEC, University of Karachi, and Iqra University on April 4-5, 2015. In a "Focus Group on Advocacy to Strengthen Demand for Economic Reform," organized by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on April 18, 2015, Dr. Ummad Mazhar participated as a guest speaker. He was also invited by Transparency International for a lecture on Good Governance, in their conference on "Striving for a Corruption Free Society," held at Pearl Continental Hotel on April 29, 2015.

Dr. Ummad is an economist and academician having broad research interests ranging from corruption and shadow economy to monetary policy transparency and central bank governance. His research papers have been published in well-reputed international research journals. He has been associated with BNU since April 2014.
