The teaching-learning model followed by School of Computer and IT greatly emphasizes practical work to enforce understanding of theoretical concepts. To achieve this objective, the lab is designated as an integral part of the learning environment.

The BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering and BSc (Hons) in Computer Science programs are built up around five streams of study. In each semester, students take up one course from each stream to complete their study suite. As they progress along to higher semesters, they are offered higher level courses from these streams. In the concluding semester, elective courses are available. The programs have a mandatory final year project, which provides students with an opportunity to put into practice what they have learned in their initial years.
