Omar Naeem has over 21 years of diverse professional experience including around 16 years at key positions in banking & finance including corporate/investment banking, supply chain finance, trade finance, project finance/syndications, retail/SME Banking and transaction banking departments. During his banking career, he has worked at a few of the top institutions of the country including ABN Amro Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, UBL, Bank Alfalah, Askari Bank & Pak Iran Investment Company. His last assignment was as the ‘Head of Supply Chain Finance’ at Bank Alfalah. He has also served for 5 years on various assignments within ‘Pakistan International Airlines (PIAC)’ including in Boeing Line Maintenance, Engineering Management and Corporate Safety divisions.
Omar has also been associated with ‘Lahore School of Economics’ as visiting faculty where he taught several business/finance subjects including corporate finance, banking & credit ratings to MBA students. Additionally, he has also conducted various corporate trainings on Financial Modelling, Investments, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Supply Chain Finance etc. and has also served on board of the CFA Society Pakistan’s North Chapter as well as IBA Karachi’s admission interview panel.
Formerly, he earned his ‘Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)’ charter in 2011 while he received his MBA degree from ‘IBA Karachi’ in 2003 where he topped the Evening Program. Prior to that, he also got his B.E. (Avionics) degree from College of Aeronautical Engineering, PAF Academy Risalpur with a major field GPA of 4.00.
He has deep interest in fields of supply chain finance, entrepreneurial finance, investments, project finance and management, financial modelling, business plan development, fintech, risk management, financial corporate advisory, financial products marketing, cross-sell mechanisms and trade finance.
