  • Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar

    Vice Chancellor

    Beaconhouse National University, Lahore

    Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar is an ACA from England and a graduate of the University Of Oxford (PPE). He has served as the Governor, State Bank of Pakistan and Minister for Finance, Planning & Development, Excise and Taxation and Industries & Minerals Development, Government of Punjab (1999-2001). He had also held several other key positions including a member of the National Commission for Government Reform, Banking Laws Review Commission, Task Force on Education established by the Government of Pakistan and the British Government, Honorary Treasurer of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP). He has also served as a Chairman of the Punjab Education Foundation that launched internationally acknowledged programs. Mr. Kardar has also provided consultancy services to multilateral and bilateral donors like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. He is the son of former test cricket captain Abdul Hafiz Kardar. He has authored three books and contributes to journals and newspapers regularly.

  • Dr. Hafiz Pasha

    Professor Emeritus & Head Center for Public Policy

    Beaconhouse National University, Lahore

    Dr. Pasha has remained Dean of the School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and Vice Chairman of the Institute of Public Policy at BNU until 2013. He has served as Chairman of the Advisory Panel of Economists to the Planning Commission, Convener of the Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of the Tax Advisory Council of Federal Board of Revenue.

    From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Pasha was UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of UNDP. Dr. Pasha has held a number of important public appointments including the Federal Commerce Minister, Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Deputy Chairman/Federal Minister of the Planning Commission, and Education Minister in three governments. He has also been the Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Dean and Director of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, and Research Professor and Director of the Applied Economics Research Centre, Karachi.

    Dr. Pasha has a M.A. from Cambridge University, U.K and PhD from Stanford University, U.S.A. He was awarded in 2005 the Congressional Medal of Achievement by the Philippines Congress.

    In 2012, he received the Engro Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in the field of Social Sciences. He has published over 150 books and articles in the fields of governance, public finance, urban and regional economics, poverty and social development, industry, energy, economics etc.

     

  • Mr. Ijaz Hussain

    ACMA, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan, Karachi
    M.A (Economics), Government College University, Lahore

    Ijaz Hussain is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan and also a graduate from Government College University, Lahore. He joined School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Beaconhouse National University in 2007. He has 20 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in reputed academic and research institutions of both private and public sectors. His areas of interest include Economics, Accounting and Finance.

  • Mr. Farrukh Karamat

    Assistant Professor

    Mr. Farrukh Karamat is a Britannia Chevening Scholar. He has an MSc in Finance from the Cass Business School, City University, London; and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. Mr. Karamat has extensive management, leadership and research experience within the Financial Services sector in the core areas of Corporate and Investment Banking, Equity Research, Risk Management and Compliance across Pakistan, Canada and the United Kingdom. He conducted post-graduate research at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions and Investment Bank Reputation. His teaching interest is in the areas of Economics, Banking and Finance; while his research is focused on Compliance within Banking, Ethics and Corporate Reputation. Mr. Karamat is the Vice President of the IBA (Lahore) Alumni Association.

  • Mr. Usman Sattar

    Usman Sattar has more than fifteen years of teaching, training and consultancy experience in the fields of Information System & System Security. He has conducted several trainings in his area of interest for national & multinational clients with respect to industrial focus. He has both local & global experience in corporate and academics.
    He remained associated with University of Management and Technology, Lahore, as Chairman (Information Systems Department) and Program Director (Bachelor of Business and Information System), in the School of Business and Economics.
    Usman is pursing PhD (Informatics) from Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), Malaysia. He has done his MS in Information Technology Management from University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. He is certified in understanding and applying case-based learning and teaching. He has also been able to motivate participants to develop and enhance their analytical abilities and use IT resources intelligently for the solutions of day to day problems of organizations.
    His research areas are Immersive Technologies, Enterprise Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Information Systems Design, Development & Management, Technology Management & Consulting, HRIS, Techno-entrepreneurship and IT Project Management.

  • Dr. Atif Hassan

    Professor 

    Dr. Atif is a Professor in the School of Business at BNU. He served as Dean, Hashoo School of Hospitality Management, Islamabad. He remained associated with University of Management and Technology as Director, School of Professional Advancement and Chairman, Department of Management in the School of Business and Economics. He also remained associated with DHA Suffa University, Karachi as full time Faculty Member and Manager Foreign Collaborations.
    He has a PhD in Management from Ifugao State University and Post-doctorate from AIMST University, Malaysia. He was awarded Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Research Fellowship in 2016 by the George Mason University, Virginia, USA.
    He has 18 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in reputed academic institutions of the country and abroad. He also taught Strategic Management to the students of Kanagawa University, Japan. His areas of interest in teaching and research include Management, Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. He is HEC Approved PhD Supervisor in the area of Management Sciences.

  • Mr. Omar Naeem, CFA

    Omar Naeem has over 21 years of diverse professional experience including around 16 years at key positions in banking & finance including corporate/investment banking, supply chain finance, trade finance, project finance/syndications, retail/SME Banking and transaction banking departments. During his banking career, he has worked at a few of the top institutions of the country including ABN Amro Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, UBL, Bank Alfalah, Askari Bank & Pak Iran Investment Company. His last assignment was as the ‘Head of Supply Chain Finance’ at Bank Alfalah. He has also served for 5 years on various assignments within ‘Pakistan International Airlines (PIAC)’ including in Boeing Line Maintenance, Engineering Management and Corporate Safety divisions.
    Omar has also been associated with ‘Lahore School of Economics’ as visiting faculty where he taught several business/finance subjects including corporate finance, banking & credit ratings to MBA students. Additionally, he has also conducted various corporate trainings on Financial Modelling, Investments, Entrepreneurial Finance, and Supply Chain Finance etc. and has also served on board of the CFA Society Pakistan’s North Chapter as well as IBA Karachi’s admission interview panel.
    Formerly, he earned his ‘Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)’ charter in 2011 while he received his MBA degree from ‘IBA Karachi’ in 2003 where he topped the Evening Program. Prior to that, he also got his B.E. (Avionics) degree from College of Aeronautical Engineering, PAF Academy Risalpur with a major field GPA of 4.00.
    He has deep interest in fields of supply chain finance, entrepreneurial finance, investments, project finance and management, financial modelling, business plan development, fintech, risk management, financial corporate advisory, financial products marketing, cross-sell mechanisms and trade finance.

    Hafsa has done her MPhil in Economics from Lahore School of Economics (LSE). She holds an undergraduate degree of double majors in Economics and Finance from Lahore School of Economics. Her interest are in theoretical modelling, development economics and environmental economics.
