The BNU, in order to meet the current needs and expanding space requirements in the future, has started the construction of the BNU New Campus, which is in full swing.

The site of the New Campus is located about 13 km from Thokar Niazbaig, Off Lahore-Raiwind Road. The area of the plot is approx. 31 acres.

The New Campus has 3 academic blocks, an Administration Block and the Central Block (which comprises of library, cafeteria and the main auditorium). All the blocks are under-construction and are expected to be completed in 2009.

The Project has been designed by the renowned Architectural firm of M/s. Nayyar Ali Dada & Associates (M/s. NADA) Lahore who are also responsible for construction supervision. The premier engineering consultancy of the country, namely M/s. NESPAK Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, Lahore has carried out and prepared the final reports in respect of Topographic Survey, Initial Environment Examination and Geotechnical Investigations.

In the three Academic Blocks provision has been made for (approximately) a total of 140 teaching studios/classrooms/labs/workshops/lecture theatres/seminar/conference & other teaching-support rooms; 65 faculty offices and 5 faculty lounges/departmental libraries; 40 waiting/reception/lobby areas and 45 rooms for services/toilets.

The Admin Block, among others, has provision for the Vice Chancellor’s wing (including Board Room), Registrar Office, Admin and Personnel Office, Student Affairs, Admissions, Personnel, Finance and Project Offices.

The Central Block comprises of the library building, the cafeteria building and the multipurpose auditorium building.

To meet the immediate requirement of sports & recreational facilities for the students, a large play ground and sports facilities are part of Phase-I of the BNU New Campus, while a gymnasium & additional facilities for indoor games may be provided in Phase-II.

The present Tarogil Campus is functioning just adjacent to the new campus, where the senior classes of School of Visual Arts and School of Architecture & Design are being conducted. For this purpose, two premises were acquired and converted into studios, labs and workshops for SVA/ SCAD. For the convenience of students, BNU provides shuttle service between the city and existing Tarogil Campus.
