We have a growing library with a fine collection
on visual arts, literature, education, mass communication
and computer programming books. It is housed on the
second floor. Library staff is there to assist the
students.
Books on Information Technology, Philosophy, Psychology,
Mass Communication, Religion, Intercultural Studies,
Economics, Education, Languages, Computer Engineering,
Management and Marketing, Typography, Fine Arts, Arts
History, Architecture, Plastic Arts and Sculpture,
Art metalwork and Jewelry, Graphic Design, Applied
Design and Decorative Art, Textile Art and Design,
Painting and Paintings, Visual Arts, Photography,
Theatre, Film and Television, Literature, Geography
and History and Reference Books on Almanacs, Encyclopedias,
Dictionaries etc are available in library.
Besides this library has a collection of Videos, DVDs
and Slides in E-Library section. The Library is subscribing
to various journals and magazines on Jewelry Design,
Architecture + Interiors, Art India, Gallery, FAQ,
Social Pages, The Third Text, International Textiles,
Mass Media and so many. It has an adequate collection
of books for the faculty and students of all schools
being run in the University. It has also photocopying
and scanning facility for the users. You can get the
photocopy of required materials of items that are
not issued, like reference books, encyclopedias, and
magazines etc.
Trained staff is ever-present to assist the readers
in the use of catalogue, reference books and in digging
out the required/relevant information from the library.
For the smooth functioning of the library certain
rules and regulations have been chalked out which
are to be followed strictly. The library staff is
advised to show polite and accommodating attitude
to the students who in turn are supposed to be respectful/co-operative
to them. A conducive working environment ensures maximum
benefit being passed on to the users of the library.

JOURNALS:
Higher Education Commission has secured inclusion
in the Program for Enhancement of Research Information
(PERI) of the International Network for the availability
of Scientific Publications (INASP). This program aims
to support capacity building in the research sector
in developing and transitional countries by strengthening
the production, access and dissemination of information

Beaconhouse National University is subscriber to HEC
Program for Enhancement of Research Information (PERI).
Through this subscription faculty have access to following

The GDN Library gives you access to a
selection of papers produced as part of GDN
activities or that have been funded by GDN. You
can search the database to find downloadable

| Computer Lab |
|
There are 2 computer labs for students
having 50 computers. Computers has latest P4 2.40GHz
processors with 1GB of RAM & 3D cards. Free internet
facility is available. Computer labs have also the facilities
of Color and Black & White printing, scanning, CD
and DVD burning. All students have their own logins
and separate secured folders to save their data. |

| Resource Centre |
|
A Resource Centre is available to faculty
and students from all Schools, consisting of various
audio-visual equipment. The Centre will be used for
classes as well as out-of-class projects |

| Audio Visual Lab |
|
A viewing room on the first floor is
available to students of the Schools of Liberal Arts
and Education for mainly out-of-class work. The room
will be equipped with a TV, VCR, and DVD player, as
well as a sizable film collection, use of which will
be on first-come-first-served basis. In certain cases,
advance bookings may also be made. |

| Newsroom |
|
The Department of Journalism at the School
of Media and Communication has set up a newsroom where
students, in addition to their own reports and write-ups,
sort out and edit stories coming from a news agency,
Pakistan Press International (PPI), which has been specifically
contracted for the same purpose, and produce newspaper
and magazine pages. Students work under the supervision
of their course instructor and are assisted in page-making
by a professional page-maker. Students get a unique
experience of working in a newsroom, which enables them
to have first-hand knowledge of working in a professional
environment. The facility of newsroom distinguishes
the School of Media and Communication at the Beaconhouse
National University from other
Institutions imparting education in journalism and media. |

| Photography Lab |
|
The Photography department is committed
to integrating the latest digital technology into the
art practice of the students.
The facility is able to help students transfer images
from one medium to the next allowing a crossover from
traditional photography to printmaking and computer
arts.
It is equipped with a highly professional darkroom designed
for conventional and alternative photographic printmaking
as well as a digital darkroom. |

| Sculpture Studio |
|
The sculpture studios at BNU contain
a considerable variety of equipment and tools to facilitate
the fabrication of sculpture. There are workshops for
working in clay, plaster, wood and metal. |
| |
|
| Wood Workshop |
|
There are classes held in this area four
times a week from September to June. The wood workshop
is accessible to SVA students when there are no scheduled
classes taking place. Foundation year students can work
with power tools only under the supervision of faculty
or the workshop technician. Equipment and power tools
may not be checked out. However, hand tools can be borrowed
overnight by depositing your BNU ID card with the studio
technician.
The studio is equipped with a Circular Saw, Planer and
Drill press, Stationery Jigsaw, Drill, Angle Grinder,
and a Portable Jigsaw. Hand tools e.g. glue gun, pliers,
hammers, sharpening stones, C-Clamps, mallets etc. are
available. The studios also have a range of safety equipment
which students MUST use while working with power tools.
Safety equipment including clear goggles & leather
gloves, are available in the equipment room. |

| Metal Fabrication Workshop |
|
The resources in the welding workshop
are available to second year students. Foundation year
students can use this facility October onwards under
supervision of faculty or the studio technician.
A range of equipment and power tools are available in
the metal workshop e.g. Oxyacetylene Welder and Cutter,
Arc Welder, Forge facilities, Bench Grinder, Jigsaw,
Hammer Drill, and Angle Grinder. Anvils, vises, materials
like coal and coke, electrodes, and clamps are also
available. Students must use safety equipment to work
in this area.
