Students of the Theatre, Film and Television Department prepared a short original play entitled Adakaar, which was performed at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering, Sciences and Technology, Cultural, Dramatics and Entertainment Society’s Drama Festival 2011.
“The trip provided me with great learning experience but was also a mind refresher. It wasn’t my first experience in theatre but it surely was the biggest opportunity I’ve had so far. Beaconhouse National University participated in the 14th International Festival of University Theatre, Tehran, 14-21 May, with a production of the Italian Nobel prize winner Dario Fo’s riotous farce Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay, adapted by Sarmad Sehbai.

Sehbai’s adaptation carries rich flavors of local idiom through its witty dialogue, and an original song ‘Khyali Pilau’. The production was directed by Claire Pamment, faculty of Theater, Film and Television Department at BNU’s School of Liberal Arts, and performed by students Read More>> |

‘Inaam’is an immigrant story about a Pakistani lawyer who experiences the gritty realism of life in London as a minicab driver. Throughout the story Inaam encounters prejudice and hostility from all sides; from David, his regular English customer as well as from his unsympathetic Bangladeshi boss Abdul. His idealism is erased - as fate wants him to become 'weatherproof'. |
