Programmes of Study

 

In the first phase of development (2005-2010) the School of Education has expanded its programmes immensely. From a single programme offering a Masters in School Administration, SE has successfully succeeded in developing two self-sustaining departments and two units. These include:

  • Department of Educational Leadership & Management

The School of Education currently offers six postgraduate degree programmes including: M.Phil, MA, Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in the following areas:

  • Education
  • Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Educational Leadership and Management

In addition, SE also offers Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmers in the fields given above.

 

Degree Requirements

The School of Education defines its degrees in terms of the following allocation of credit hours and GPA requirements:

  • For MS/M.Phil degree, students complete a total of 36 credits and maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0
  • For a two-year MA degree, students complete a total of 72 credits and maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5
  • For PGD, students complete a total of 18 credits and maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5

 

 

The School of Education comprises two departments, which offer various degrees as well as a Programme of Continuing Education, which offers certificate courses for on-going professional development of teachers, educators and educational researchers.
