Dialogue 1, an exhibition curated by Usman Saleemi, Syed Faraz Ali, Umber Majeed and Zoya Siddiqui, four students of School of Visual Arts & Design (SVAD), Beaconhouse National University opened on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011, at the Art Gallery of Alhamra Arts Complex, Mall Road, Lahore.

The Inauguration Ceremony was held on June 14, 2011. World-acclaimed architect Mr. Nayyar Ali Dada inaugurated the exhibition along with CEO, SME Business Support Fund (BSF), Mr. Saquib Mohyuddin and a delegation of businessmen and entrepreneurs from the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Prominent artists, designers, and senior creative professionals from various industries were in attendance.

The exhibition will continue till June 16, 2011 and the gallery will be open for visitors till from 2:00 pm till 8:00 pm on 15th and 16th of June, 2011. The event is open to the public, and no passes or entry fees are required.

Following in the footsteps of Beaconhouse National University’s highly acclaimed Thesis Show 2011, the art and design community now has more reason to celebrate this groundbreaking exhibition exploring the boundaries between art and design, and featuring work from a wide range of disciplines, including sculpture, digital arts, painting, photography, print design & typography, textile, and Pakistan’s first ever exhibit dedicated exclusively to Design Entrepreneurship. More than 150 works by over 60 students will be displayed on the exhibition, with submissions ranging from foundation year students to work from BNU’s Masters of Art & Design Program. Various works will be available for purchase.

The curators have received complete support from Dean, SVAD, Prof. Salima Hashmi and renowned contemporary artist and Head of Fine Arts Department, SVAD, Mr. Rashid Rana. Prominent faculty members David Alesworth, Huma Mulji, Umar Hameed and Gwendolyn Kulick also provided guidance and encouragement.

The exhibition is made possible with the support of the Lahore Arts Council, especially from the Curator, Alhamra Art Gallery, Ms.Tania Suhail.
