SVAD Student Wins HRCP Videography Contest

A 3rd year Fine Arts students at Mariam Dawood School of Visual Art and Design, Samiha Fozi Khan has won the first prize at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Videography Contest. Her documentary; “Kot Kar” (beaten) was declared the best among 60 films submitted from across the country in the Women’s Rights category. Read More>>

David Alesworth’s Work Exhibited at Aga Khan Museum, Toronto

Associate Professor at Mariam Dawood of School of Visual Arts, BNU David Chalmers Alesworth is participating in the inaugural exhibition of the new Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada. The exhibition, titled “The Garden of Ideas: Contemporary Art from Pakistan,” is curated by Sharmini Pereira and will run from September 18, 2014, to January 18, 2015. The Aga Khan Museum is designed by the renowned Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki. David is one of six Pakistani artists represented in the exhibition and has been commissioned to produce twelve new works, both graphic and carpet based, for this show in addition to one existing work.
