SVAD Student Wins HRCP Videography Contest
A 3rd year Fine Arts students at Mariam Dawood School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD), Samiha Fozi Khan has won the first prize at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Videography Contest. Her documentary; “Kot Kar” (beaten) was declared the best among 60 films submitted from across the country in the Women’s Rights category.
In her documentary, Samiha Fozi Khan has portrayed voices of three different women on the issue of basic human rights and domestic violence faced by women of all ages in Pakistan. The visuals in the video question the existence of those issues which are usually not taken seriously in our society. Such violations of women’s rights happen every day, yet they are ignored.
We like to congratulate Samiha on her achievement and hope that she continues to bring human rights issues to the limelight through her work.
